So many of you are already praying for these
guys, and some of you even by name, but we
wanted show them
all off to you.  Some of the
ones you knew from before are now "chefes" or
helpers in other dorms ( i.e. Alunario, Arao,
Filimon and Nelson Cumbana) while other have
been reintegrated with family.  Please, if you
were praying for some of these guys, they could
use it now more than ever as they try to move on
into their lives.  Many of these faces, however,
will be new to you.
Thanks for loving these guys !!

On page 2 pictures of Children's Day with
our dorm and our seven, as well as lunch
and the babies.  Also, pics of family and
friends in Texas and some very special
friends we got to see on the way back to
Mozambique.
our seven
These boys are so sweet (most of the time . . . I
mean, they're still kids), but God has really knit us
together with these seven.  Starting across the page
and continuing clockwise;  1) Chico, who is short for
his age but probably out of the seven, closest to me
(Jimmy).  He's quite the "little man" as Linda would
say, full of love and very level-headed.  2) Rosaque,
protector of Mana Linda and always the quickest to
pitch in and help around the house.  He's also one
of our "moodier" guys so we're constantly trying to
"sow" into his character an increase in consistency.
3) Vagner, our oldest.  Completely a teenager with
all the trimmings but still very needy in the areas of
affection and affirmation, so we always remember to
give him extra "portions."
 4) Inoch, our little soccer
star and younger brother to Filimon (in the pictures
above).  He is so easy going and always a joy to be
around.  5) Armando, or as the other boys say;
"Mana Linda's Armando" because he is so close to
Linda.  It doesn't seem to bother them at all because
they know there is more than enough love for all of
them.  Armando likes to work in the backyard and
has big plans for all kinds of new plants we could
put in!  6) Our youngest, Adrian, very good in school
and always by one of our sides.  He has big dreams
of someday studying in America and instantly
captures your heart with his beautiful smile.  7) And
Ivan, always curious, always hungry, always "for us."
He's very careful to defend Papa Jimmy and Mana
Linda when we're out from any potential danger and
is probably the biggest fan of Mana Linda's cooking.

"dorm of fire"
Julio, our main Head Educator
and a good friend.
Moises, our other great educator
and a wonderful man of God.
Camarata do fogo - dorm of fire
This is, as a rule, our youngest room.
Sweet guys.  Many of them are very
gifted in praise and worship and/or
artistic abilities.
Top row, from left to
right:  Manuel, chefe of the room,
Ricardo and Ernesto.  Manuel and
Ernesto speak very good English so
they get along well with visitors, and
both of them help with the street
ministry outreach.
Second row, l to r:
Baptista, Dito (our only diabetic in the
dorm) and Fernando.  Dito is such a
great helper with the boys in the
youngest dorm - and I don't think I've
ever seen him with a frown.
The third
row
down, from l to r:  Armando, Filipe,
and Nelson.  Armando's our youngest
in the dorm so we're hoping that the
others will help "brother" him into a
new level of maturity.  Filipe is one of
Inoque's (our Inoque) closest buds,
and Nelson is one of the wonderful
guys I pastor on the worship team.
He is an anointed drummer and my
up and coming sound technician in
the back.
  room 1
  room 4
  room 3
  room 2
Room number two used to be a tough
room for us.  We had some guys who
we loved dearly but to be honest were
either clowns with respect issues or a
bit "bully-ish".  But over this past year
room two has changed dramatically
for the better.
Top row, from l to r:
Lucas, our gentle but hard working
chefe.  Besides all the time he puts in
for  the dorm, he also has part-time
work in the kitchen.  Next to him, one
of our star soccer players, Santos,
and then Silvestre (younger brother to
Helder - who used to be in our dorm).
Second row, from l to r:  David, our
other soccer star (in fact, he has
played with the Mozambican national
team), Gabriel, and Binario - another
one of my worship team "sons."
Binario is one of the greatest servants
I know.  Even though he is an
excellent bassist and a great help in
the sound booth, he comes every
single service early to set up the stage
area, and not just set it up, but set it
up
perfectly.  Easy to love this kid.
Finally, at the bottom is another brand
new arrival to our dorm, Eugenio.
Room three has been a stable factor
for us in the dorm.  They have always
been "even keel," good workers, and
great to get along with.  The newer
group is no exception.
Top row, from
left to right:  Flavio, our chefe, and my
computer sidekick.  He really has an
aptitude for them, and has been at our
house learning on the side for months
now.  Chico, our electrician, and Noa.
Second row, from l to r:  Basilio,
Joachim (nicknamed "Bebe"), and
Ramos.  Bebe is on the praise and
worship team and plays some pretty
incredible electric guitar riffs.  Ramos
is one of those guys that we will see
moving onto university.  He is so so
smart and a great studier.  He under-
stands where he
can go in the Lord
and is pursuing it wholeheartedly.
Finally, on the bottom is Vagner, a
face you might recogize as one of
ours.   He is the first of our seven to
come into the dorm, and even though
we're partial, I'd say he's a pleasure to
be around.   He's a great student, and
a sensitive young man.
Room four is our "Youth Educators"
room, and I don't have pictures for all
the guys yet.  I'll try to remedy that
soon.  Our youth educators cover for
the adult educators over the weekends
and thus have oversight of a whole
dorm.  Big responsibility.  We're very
proud of them.
Top row, from l to r:
Herminio, Alex and Jeremias.
Second
row, from l to r:  Agosto and Antonio.
         "camarata do fogo"
We've had a pretty large turnover this past year in our camarata (dorm).  That's to be expected since we have the oldest group
of boys, many of them turning eighteen this past year.  However, with the sadness of some leaving, God has been so good in
bringing many new ones in that are absolutely wonderful.  Lindy and I really have an awesome group of boys right now,
thirty-two in all.  They're an easy lot to love.
Here they're sporting their new dorm t-shirts on Children's Day.
